Saheeh Muslim is one of the six major Sunni collections of hadith (Qutub as-Sitta). Saheeh Muslim is considered the second most reliable collection of hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad after Sahih al-Bukhari.
Sunni Muslims regard Sahih Muslim as the second most reliable after Sahih al-Bukhari. These two collections are usually called "Sahihs" or "Sahihane" ("two reliable collections").
Amin Ahsan Islahi noted some features of Sahih Muslim:
1. Muslim recorded only such stories, which reported two reliable transmitters from the number of Sahabs (Companions of Muhammad), who later went on two independent continuous chains (isnads).
2. Location of the topic and sections. Muslim leads a hadith, and next to him, puts all his versions (rivayat).
3. Riyawths of hadith as well as other hadiths are given together with isnad (a chain of transmitters).
